Never showed to her before. Fair, seemed to many breed standards and really fun to show to her.
5448Allen L. Odom p53.452917Apr 27, 2024ToysAnon
What a nice person! Very gentle and patient with young puppies. Seems to like good movement and correct hair. Not political at all.
379Mr. Jon R. Cole p Bio212.7215470Apr 20, 2024Australian ShepherdCara Jensen
Not quite sure what he’s doing, he’s all over the board. Doesn’t stay consistent. I don’t think he understands the standard. I won’t show to him anymore. I’ve given him three times.
23143Mrs. Nancy J. Eilks p32.0044Apr 19, 2024Border ColliesLHB
Agree with the stockdog appearance comment.
5170Mrs. Nancy Liebes p3.205129Apr 17, 2024SportingAnonymous
Seems fair, gives all dogs a good look. Pay attention in the ring.
7276Mr. Dana P. Cline p53.4015182Apr 13, 2024MultipleAnnon
Very business like in his exam. Acts as if he is considering all dogs, but the vast majority of the time it goes to the pros regardless of the dog’s quality.
5724Mr. Charles L. Olvis p53.0312159Apr 13, 2024TerriersLP
Pleasant, very quick with the exam. Appreciates proper movement. Pay close attention.
6176Mr. Gary L. Andersen p Web2.763418Apr 9, 2024MultipleJk
I recently observed him and I have to agree with many others. His choices do not agree with the breed standard. 90% of his picks were to please Handlers that brought him lots of entries.
35586Mr. David Bolus p12.305342Apr 8, 2024TerriersAnnon
Does not give time to set up on the table. Nor does he do a through the exam. Barely looks at the dogs on the go round.
5170Mrs. Nancy Liebes p53.205129Apr 7, 2024ToyAnonymous
Excellent judge. No politics. Kind, professional and truly tries to pick best dog for the breed standard that I observed in 6 toy breeds she judged. I had no dogs entered. Just observing.
4549Mr. Nathaniel Horn p12.243717Mar 31, 2024DachshundKat Meyers
I am not a fan. He seems deeply uninterested in the work. He seems to be struggling with mobility and may even be in pain. He barely touched the dogs and didn't even watch mine move. I'm always appalled when judges won't even pretend to be respectful. I won't travel the 90 minutes to our local show when he judges there.
96227Ms. Pamela S. Lambie p2.27118Mar 26, 2024boxerMJ Salmon
Seemed to prefer plain brindles. Put up handlers for Breed over Specials.
5459Dr. Albert P. Bianchi p13.393622Mar 26, 2024Herding BreedAnonymous
He is very pleasant but has become political. His BOB and BOS picks, although political, were at least good representations of the breed. His Select Dog choice was egregiously political. The Select Dog was the furtherest from adhering to the breed standard of all the dogs in the ring. The Select Dog and the Select Bitch looked nothing like each other or the BOB and BOS selections. He was judging a large entry of a typically low entry breed. After seeing how many better examples of the breed that he passed over, I don't plan on ever giving him an entry again.
6644Mrs. Vicki L. Abbott p12.896235Mar 25, 2024ToysDinky McDingleberry
Nice lady. If you have a good toy, forget this judge. She wont put up anything good that might beat the dog her daughter handling. Clueless
6650Mrs. Molly Martin p3.351711Mar 25, 2024Toys Dinky McDingleberry
Clueless. Do not hire or show to her
6674Mr. Steve Hayden p12.892915Mar 25, 2024ToysDinky McDingleberry
Puts up handlers and people he knows. One exhibitor told everyone that "it pays to know the judge" after winning both BOB and BOS. DNS and Do not hire.
4304Dr. H. Scott Kellogg p53.17136Mar 24, 2024HerdingAnon
To the reviewer saying he favored a handler to put up a puppy: this judge likes to award well deserving puppies where he can. He has put up very nice deserving puppies over specials for breed multiple times and a fair amout of times those have been novices, owner handled. I can follow his choices and theoretically being a ch or gch should not be the deciding factor for bob choices as so many think it should. Dr. Kellogg is a quality judge who seems to like a nice typey expression and movement and will award deserving puppies or dogs from the classes over specials. Will forgive puppy antics, a rather quiet individual procedure wise but he looks only at the dogs imho and I will always try to take my best to him.
6515Mrs. Joan Luna Liebes p52.863620Mar 24, 2024ACDZoe
Puts up what she likes and advocates for the dog. Had a very well known pro handler handling a bitch that was extremely fearful and hand to be dragged on the down and back and go around. The bitch went WB the previous day under a different judge but in Ms. Liebes ring she did not tolerate the poor bitch being dragged and excused the handler. I may not have the type she likes but I highly respect her for advocating for the dog. Seems to like a nice expression and typey head, will put a deserving puppy over specials. I would show to her any day, wonderful judge.
90740Ms. Linda L. Reece p53.2597Mar 21, 2024Border TerrierDawn Kelley
She knows type, is consistent, has good ring presence. Excellent with puppies. She judges the DOGS, not the handlers. No issue putting up owner-handlers or younger dogs if they are quality. Always feel I got a fair evaluation or placement - win or lose. She is one of my favorites and I will do out of my way to show to her.
16298Mrs. Linda Hurlebaus p51.862921Mar 18, 2024Chows & Several Non-Sporting breedsRockland
An excellent judge, gave every entry a good look, obviously knows the standards. Good ring procedures consistent with all entries. Those who didn't place well or lost may question her judgements as in any show, but she was fair to every entry. Did not see any advantage to the Pro Handlers. Pleasant to show too.
5448Allen L. Odom p13.452917Mar 17, 2024HoundsAnonymousExpert!
Put up galloping puppy with pro handler over specials. Could not be more rude to everyone else. He should retire, he made it very clear he does not enjoy judging.
5972Dr. Daniel W. Dowling p52.773015Mar 15, 2024shnauzersTatiana Myers
Mr Dowling was very pleasant today in the ring. We had mix of PRO handlers and OHs. He wanted to see good moving free stacking dogs. One what I was showing didn't place and I'm agree with it. My parter had small, but very showy bitch with happy disposition. Mr Dowling placed her for Best of winners. Ahead of handlers and people with bigger dogs (and in our breed Big dog seems to be a thing most of judges are looking for, even this is not correct and we have size DQ). Our winner bitch sadly didn't have the best ear crop either. But he sure found the dog behind of ears. What is nice.

Choose nice class animals, did not put up any of the top dogs for Breed, choose Owner Handlers.

Seemed to prefer Bred By Class, which was good for me. Kinda rude taking pictures though, but she just may of been tired.

15812Mr. Michael Lanctot p Bio Web13.531911Mar 3, 2024Workinganonymous
I have such a hard time understanding this judge’s ridiculous judging decisions. He put up for BOB a dog with a nice head but a fiddle front and terribly straight upper arm and shoulders, over one of the few actually deserving specials in the breed who is just the most amazing embodiment of breed type and structure. Maybe he was trying to be nice to the owner-handler? Whatever his reason, totally unacceptable to put up a dog with a poor front in a working breed where a good front is so essential to solid structure and movement. DNS
379Mr. Jon R. Cole p Bio112.7215470Mar 2, 2024DachshundKM
He's really lost the plot. Every. Single. Woman. I speak to says that, in order to win, you must wear an obscenely low-cut blouse and a very, very short skirt.
253Mrs. Judith A. Brown p2.814318Feb 24, 2024PemsNONY
I have always been a supporter of Ms Brown, however I watched her put up a very lacking entry with a top handler. This is why there are many "bought" champions who do not deserve the title.
105227Laurel Deptuch1None11Feb 24, 2024BorzoiAnonymousExpert!
The BOB Borzoi, shown by a very good handler, flared out her back leg during a stack, which was shaking pretty hard, right in front of her while she was looking at it from behind. I watched her see it. Instead of dismissing, she fawned all over the handler, and the other men, and gave the dog BOB. She either doesn't know what lameness is or doesn't care. Save your money. One of the worst judges I have ever shown to.
5842Mrs. Barbara G. Pepper p53.352011Feb 23, 2024DachshundKM
She was lovely, through, and gentle. I had a great experience in her ring.
5140James J. Mitchell22.64177Feb 23, 2024Rhodesian RidgebackAnonymous
After trying to ascertain what this judge was looking for, I decided it was handlers. WB, WD, BOB - all handlers. He put up dogs that were clearly restricted in movement, over better dogs that were owner handled. Those with handlers themselves were visibly perplexed seeing their dogs win over dogs clearly more deserving. Of note is that he asked all exhibitors to move their dogs slowly on the go 'round, which masks reach and drive in this breed. As a side note, although he was fairly gentle going over the dogs, nearly every dog in the ring shyed away from him to one degree or another.
7393Mrs. Terry L. Berrios p512.714831Feb 23, 2024Rhodesian RidgebackMark
I am perplexed by the negative comments about this judge. Is it possible that she does not know specific breeds as well as others? She was very consistent in her judging of Rhodesian Ridgebacks. She liked substance, movement and if your dog had a nice head, that was a cherry on top. Don't bring this judge slight dogs with narrow fronts, or restricted movement of any kind, even if you have a good handler. You will get dumped - and that is how it should be. Seems to be very familiar with our standard, which is refreshing these days.
5646Mrs. Eva E. Berg p22.645029Feb 22, 2024DachshundKat Meyers
I was reasonably appalled by her choices today as were many others inside and outside of the ring.
7354Mr. Robert Eisele p12.8688Feb 22, 2024ToysAnoymous
Watched him judge Group. As the dogs filed into the ring, I told my neighbor sitting next to me, BIG Name, Top Handler with Big Winning Dog is likely to win, Big Winning handler with fewer wins and big winning dog will get 2nd, Well-known handler (not as well known as the first two) with big winner will get third. Guess what? Exactly that happened. Eisele placed his group winners by how much winning first the handler, and secondly the dog have done.
35586Mr. David Bolus p112.305342Feb 22, 2024WeimaranersOH
Bolus made all his awards in breed, then he judged OH separately and put up another special bitch OVER his Select Bitch for OHBOB, reversing himself! AKC rep was called, OHBOB ribbon was taken away from one person and given to SB, and Bolus corrected his book. HOW is it that a judge can absolutely REVERSE their own placement within minutes? During best of breed judging, Champion Female A is better than Champion Female B and therefore wins Select over B, but moments later, Champion Female B is suddenly BETTER than Champion Female A and deserves to win OHBOB over A? How does that work? If it was lameness, the lame dog needs to be excused and the judge's book marked. OH rules have been in place since 2012. Bolus either didn’t know the rules (NO excuse, given how often he judges!), didn’t care enough to learn the rules (then WHY is he judging?!), couldn’t remember the rules (should NOT be judging in that case!), or could not remember what he had just done (again, should NOT be judging!). DNS, and definitely DO NOT HIRE!!!
5777Mr. Jeffery M. Bazell p14.102214Feb 22, 2024ToysDinky McDingleberry
Put up two handlers with the worst dogs in the ring, asked other exhibitors if they were owner handlers before he started judging specials. This is against AKC best practices. Did this to eliminate the people who looked like handers but he wasnt sure. horrible judge. Do not show and do not hire.

Will give you a group 1 one week and then completely dump you the next week. Very inconsistent. If someone showing to her is from Oklahoma, you're screwed. DNS and DNH.
