It was obvious he liked sculpted coat. Excessive grooming and sculpting is against the chow standard. Not sure sure what else he saw.

Cares about silhouette, structure, and movement. Compares exhibits from the ground up. In working, don't be surprised if he finds his winner well before he gets to the head. Give Owner Handled exhibits as fair a shot as anyone.

Evaluated each dog fairly, regardless of handler. Not sure what he was looking for as it was small entry. Used a natural exhibit in a C/D breed. Tends to be slow, but thorough

Once again, only looked at the wrong end of the lead to HANDLER. It's a shame when they can't judge the dog. Several nicer dogs and bitches in the ring, same handler got WD, WB and BOB.

Showed to this judge earlier this year with a moderate sized class bitch although right in the middle of the Standard. His comment to me was that she was "just too small." While he awarded her BOS she had gone BOB the previous day. He seemed amazed when I informed him that she had three majors and was only one point from finishing. I don't know the size of the bitches he'd been judging but to declare a bitch in the Standard as "too small" seems as if he needs to re-read the Standard.
