Refreshingly apolitical, he will use owner-handlers without hesitation. Doesn't care who the top winning/advertised dogs are, he does what he wants. In Swissies, he cares very much that they look like they could pull a cart -- wants a front and chest that would fill a harness. Very attuned to the nuances of breed type -- will fault a Swissy head that is too heavy and Rottie-ish, for example. And I would not hesitate to take a nice puppy to him...he will not hesitate to reward from the 6-9 class, even at specialties (gave WD and WB to 6-9 month puppies at a large specialty in our breed).

Likes a small Dane without bone or substance, doesn't seem to focus on good movement

Arrogant and does not give each entry the same consideration. Makes up his mind before going over each dog and makes it obvious when he's not considering your dog. I think a judge should give every entry the same consideration/time spent on exam. A judge should look/pretend to look at every entry. He's on my DNS list now.

I think this judge is looking for movement and maybe who is at the end of the lead -He does measure in the ring and explained to the exhibitor. He is friendly and gentle with the dogs. I will show to him again as an OH & will have a better feel for him then

I found him to be a very pleasant judge, seemed very fair. Likes a nicely conditioned dog, square. Seemed color blind and willing to talk to exhibitors and explain his placements. A breathe of fresh air. |
