I am perplexed by the negative comments about this judge. Is it possible that she does not know specific breeds as well as others? She was very consistent in her judging of Rhodesian Ridgebacks. She liked substance, movement and if your dog had a nice head, that was a cherry on top. Don't bring this judge slight dogs with narrow fronts, or restricted movement of any kind, even if you have a good handler. You will get dumped - and that is how it should be. Seems to be very familiar with our standard, which is refreshing these days.

I have always had great respect for this judge. She picks who she wants not who presents the dog. Will pick a typey dog and tends to choose small to moderate over a coarse entry. I have won and lost under her and will always give her an entry.

Pleasant to show too, will place class entries over specials, attention to eyes and head

She easily found the best dog for WD/BOW and his first major, though it wasn't a hard choice. Was very, very patient with a shy puppy. Did not appear political.

Time to retire.. put an owner handler over the number 1 in the breed!
Sep 3, 20193Tatiana schnauzers, terriers
Observed her judging several terrier breeds (mostly rather small entry) and a group of miniatures schnauzers. She was nice, professional, clear with instructions. We had two very young dogs in classes that day and she had plenty of patience and gave puppies great experience. We didn't win in classes, but won a Breed with my young Special. I'm OH. Would give this lady another try.

Gave the same pro handler winners dog winners bitch and best of breed. It was so obvious where her pics were going she never even moved the bitches and gave winners bitch to the handler before the last Bitch was even set up.

'ditto' previous comment but has no problem finding the pros in the ring. Another waste of time and money

nice lady- DOES NOT HAVE A CLUE- DNS list

She is very partial to a handler in that lives in her area. She will put up his dogs in breed and group every time he shows to her. Very partial and unfortunately does not know the breed standard.

She was on the panel of 6 shows in 4 days. I won under her with a dog who no other judge did anything with and lost with a dog every other judge either awarded Winners or Reserve. Made the scratch my head and wonder whether she knows dogs.

first time showing to this judge. She engaged in the theme of the day which was team jersey's and was dressed as such. This tells me a judge wants to engage with the rest of the show atmosphere. This is not a chatty or social judge, and folks may see her as cold, aloof, and not very friendly, but she does smile on occasion, and makes positive comments. My feeling is, at least in my breed, that she likes a more slight dog, on the smaller end of the standard. While NOT a huge entry, her choices for awards were all slight, not heavy boned at all. She likes a dog that moves cleanly, not just with correct gait, but also one that does not dip and dive at the end of a lead. I did see her excuse two specials in another breed who refused to be examined, and she gave both MANY chances and even made the effort after the breed to work with one of them. Not a warm fuzzy judge, but a good judge, very fair in her placements, without looking up the lead.

This judges is the worst I have ever seen , she put a 12 inch male up for the group I don't think she knows the standard or how to use a wicket the standard calls for no more then 10 at the shoulder on a toy poodle

Did not show but watched her judge. While very polite she was also obviously watching for handlers. She seemed to have a hard time deciding which handler or known person she should put up. After reading reviews for this judged I was disappointed in her judging.

I've won and lost under her over the years. She will go with who she knows, especially those from her home state!

was very kind- wants a dog to show to her- looks for expression

Unless you are a top well advertised dog or a big handler, you will not get looked at with this judge.
Dec 13, 20125Magnifique YorkiesYorkshire Terrier
Gave my puppy dog WD and BOW for a 3 point major from the 6-9mo class. She commented that she loved his reach & drive and his confidence. I felt like she truly judged the dogs and put up what she liked. She dumped a very well known all-breed handler that showed a dog in the open class, giving him second in the class, so I don't feel like she was at all political. She also made a comment to another Yorkie exhibitor that she did not really care about bite/teeth in toys but that she did in the larger breeds.

Seemed to be looking more at faces than anything else. Her WD and WB entries were obvious choices, but she had several nice specials for BOB and went with the one with the big time handler.

Judged the dogs! Was very pleasant and confident. Will show to her again.

Totally clueless. Gave WB to a light eyed dog, and then reserve to a bitch who looked like a chihuahua. The worst thing was she passed up a bitch who everyone is drooling over? Gave WD to a dog whose front is so bad, he gallops around the ring. Once again she overlooked an outstanding dog. She had 2 great examples of the breed right in front of her, and she could not pick them out? That is sad.

Really was difficult to pinpoint what she was looking for in the ring today. Her WB held her ears straight up (a solid black). Her WD had very poor movement and her BOB was shown by a handler. In fact, all her placements were shown by handlers, I guess you know what she was looking for...DNS!

Likes smaller Berners. Does not consider movement but will put up a puppy.

She needs to learn more about coat types and not the normal she sees in the ring. Will not show to again.
Oct 30, 20084Elizabeth DotsonGreat Pyrenees
Gave my dog major points. Did not seem to pick faces but actually judged the dogs. I will definitely show to her again.

Still needs experience, but this judge has real hope to be one of the best in the breed. Seems to judge dogs and knows one when she sees it.

We found her to be very good. Found nice dogs, loves good type. Placed young son with very pregnant dog high in class, but could not give it to her, (did affect her movement) Very good ring procedure. Will definately try her again. Explained her placement reasons.

Nice lady, but not confident enough in her own abilities. Too conscious of (her own) perceived need to "spread the wins around" evenly.
Aug 9, 20071AnonymousGreat Dane
She has a very good ring presence and interacts well with dogs. She would be a good judge to take a puppy to that you are working on good show experiences with. BUT she is not a good judge. She will put up her friends even if they have the worst dog in the ring.

My experience with Mrs. Berrios was excellent. Very very good with puppies, and is willing to put them up for the points. Is willing to consider natural ears.

Provisional --- missed a couple of nice dogs and went with the locals. Must not be looking at fronts and she let some sloppy stuff slide by for breed and OS. Anything other than gray must be a problem for her ???????
