Terrible judging Does not judge the dogs
Apr 15, 20171Tatianaxolos
Winner bitches walked in the ring and lined up. This lady went to judges table, pulled the chair out, turned her back to the dogs and spent lovely 5 minutes chatting with the steward about unrelated subjects. Finally she realized she is to judge dogs there, got up and went to do her job with the words "Oh! I'm not finished here." I never saw anything like that before. My dog wasn't in the ring at the moment, but my friends were in with two of their Xolos and we all were evenly speechless. You do not want to do this job?... Please do not!

Pleasure to show to. Will put up owner handlers out of Bred By

Perhaps if she spent some time looking at the dogs instead of their handlers she'd be able to tell a dog from a bitch . . . or not?

Too political when judging our breed. Not worth my entry support

pleasant to show to but wouldn't show to her again if it was free and in my backyard...Gave her four different chances to show me she can judge the dogs but on my DNS list. picks handler or her buddies from local NY KC's, didn't check any of the bites on several breeds, not one mouth was examined and there were majors in both sexes. doesn't know the standards or just doesn't care to use them. not sure if she judges the same in other states but is not worth an entry in upstate NY or PA

This judge enjoys what she is doing; has a great sense of humor and is very kind to all the entries, dog and handler. I believe she looks for good structure and movement. Would definitely show to her again...love judges who make the dogs feel comfortable and gives them time to settle down. She will give the dog a chance to do well, and makes it a good experience for the dog which is so important especially with young dogs. Saw her judging recently in 2014 and was very disappointed. It seemed she was playing games and being political. The entry was larger and there were many pro handlers so maybe this made a difference. Given her previous judging and the more recent experience, I am changing my rating.

Did not have a problem with the dog chosen for BOB. However was not impressed with her BOW choice. There was only 1 of each class dog and bitch. Both 6 mos. old puppies. She chose the bitch which was leggy, didn't move straight, and a little cow hocked over a much more compact, well put together dog that also was better trained and socialized.

Hasn't a clue as to why she does placements, gives really dumb statements which further shows she has NO clue as to structure and why a dog moves like it does. Puts up her buddies, wouldn't show to if around the corner and entry was free.

I would not waste the gas to the corner to show to this judge. She doesn't know the standard, she places handlers and her friends. DNS forever.

Needs to look more down the lead, less up the lead. BOB was picked ringside as soon as the handlers entered the ring.

This judge was very pleasant to show to, and it was quite obvious she enjoys what she does, and clear on her ring procedure. She was patient with the exhibitors, and put them at ease when some of the younger pups broke their stack, or wouldn't stand still for the exam etc. Was definitely judging the dogs for the most part, in my opinion. I would show to her again anytime.

Lacks an understanding of our standard. She is a good example of why judges should be reviewed by AKC. Wouldn't waste my time with her again.

We showed to this judge this weekend. She is pleasant, easy on the dogs and clear in her directions. takes time doing multiple exams. I can agree with most of her choices on the day and was very pleased to see her give a group 4 to a deserving puppy bitch.

Have shown under twice(2007 & 2010). Both occasions she has been very pleasant & cheerful-relaxed & enjoyable in her ring; soft hand w/ the dogs. Appreciates a good moving dog & one w/ attitude/presence. Appears to understand the breed standard; seems to look at TOTAL picture, rather than fault judge. No evidence of favoritism or politics....she does what she wants. Recently judged N/S group & put up ALL short coated dogs..giving OWNER/HANDLER of Boston Terrier a Group One.

She can most definitely look at the other end of the leash! I agree that she favors her friends.

Showed to Ms. Porpora and was happy to see that she judged the dogs and not the other end of the lead. Very friendly and nice to show to, gentle with the dogs. Seemed happy to be there and really enjoyed what she was doing. A pleasure to show to.

Ms Porpora is a fan of a certain Samoyed kennel. She has made unprofessional comments to other exhibitors regarding another entries poor bites, will put up dogs out of coat from certain kennel over superior dogs in full coat. She is on my Do Not Show list for Samoyeds. Her breed is Siberians.
