Ms. Carr is provisional on our breed and needs to understand the Basenji AKC breed standard. The Basenji has 4 approved colors. Today, sitting ringside it was obvious to other onlookers besides me, that every class winner and Special she awarded was red & white. They were lacking a correct topline, had poor movement and they were high in the rear. She overlooked very nice dogs that were tri color and brindle that were better specimens of the breed. The AKC rep was not ringside to observe her judging today. This lady certainly needs mentoring on our breed standard again. She's on my DNS list.

Very pleasant judge who enjoys judging. She is gentle with puppies and says something sweet to all the dogs as she examines them. She like good movement and will put up what she thinks is best regardless of handler.

Mrs Carr is pleasant to exhibitors and is good with puppies and gentle with all dogs on the table. She has a good ring procedure which is clear. She did not look up the lead in the classes and seemed to like a pretty dog with great type and a lovely side gait.

Very pleasant woman with good ring procedure. I have won some and lost some under her and yet her judging remains a mystery to me. I can not figure out how she makes her choices (besides choosing the correct Handler/Special combo for Breed). There is nothing consistent about her judging that I can find (except that so many people complain that it is bad!). I have not observed her reward clean movement, level toplines, or even "pretty"...maybe because she comes from Terriers she looks for attitude (??) which in hounds is not correct... suffice it to say that I don't think she has an eye for a dog...at least not a hound dog. But she is pleasant, kind and good with puppies and novices.

Will not tolerate a misbehaving dog, even if the bad behavior is minor.

I was showing my 19 mos old dog with a dog he doesn't like. Because of this my dog was not showing well. To get a good look, she allowed me to gait him on the far side of the ring. She placed him in the 1st place position. But he went completely nuts on the last go around. Judge Carr had no choice but to give the other dog the win. She made the absolutely correct decision. My dog did not deserve the win. I would show to her again anytime.

Good knowledge of the breed. Both caring and considerate in the ring! Will put up a puppy without hesitation! A keeper

Very quiet, light mannerism and touch, good with young exhibits. Not consistent in class selections. |
