Was slightly disorganized in his running of the ring and awarding for OHBOB vs BOB. While he didn't favor my dog, I understood his choice of a more mature, cleaner marked dog.

Not sure what this judge was looking for. No one else could make sense of his placements. WB was handled by a professional handler and had a horrific rear. This is a draft dog and the rear is very important that it be strong. Not sure I will show to him again.

Review from the 2015 Elgin, IL show. I'm fairly new to this but I don't understand this judges choice. The Leonberger he gave best of breed to was knock kneed (when it was trotting away from the judge) & over lapping its front paws coming back, looked thin too. The Leo he didn't give 'best of' was beautiful, good gait, attentive, solid (just as a working class dog should be). I went out to look at the information on how dogs should move & poor gait was NOT listed as appropriate for any breed that I read through. Not sure I would recommend showing for this judge to friends with larger breed dogs.

Have watched him judge several times now, some times he seems to know the standards other times not sure what he's picking, no consistency in his placements, needs to study the standards as his placings were there worst of the bunch, over very nice quality dogs, I'd save my money and skip him.

Runs a fair ring, and pays attention to those exhibiting. Knows what he wants (likes head, coat & movement), and expects everyone to pay attention. Very consistant! Will show again anytime.

He did a very nice job judging Koms in MT. While the bred-by puppy was very cute, he put up the slightly more mature Open bitch who moved like a dream. Nice enough to discuss after judging. Will show to again.

Seems to judge the dogs, rather than who is on the end of the lead. Also seems willing to consider natural ears.
