She has no clue what a good working dog is !! Terrible picks and plays games
Oct 22, 20225RocklandChows
Excellent ring procedures, everyone gets a good look, not partial to handlers, color, age, or class of entry. Makes good selections from across the board. Gentle with young dogs and works with those that act up during exam, and inexperienced handlers.

I certainly did not agree with any of her choices for the classes. In a beautiful line up of specials it was apparent she did not go for sound movement or style. I cannot assess whether politics were at play but from her picks I assume she has a certain bug in her ear telling her who to point to and away from.

Hasn't got a clue about the Working breeds, their structure, movement, purpose for which they should have been bred. Save your money

Just NOPE, when giving out awards, she pointed to me with my dark faced top winning agouti bitch and said “and you get NOTHING” so rude.
Jan 15, 20225Patty HarbisonLakeland Terriers
Gave me crossover points for BOW with a very shaggy puppy his first weekend out. He was much the best over the decent class bitches, but a lot of terrier judges wouldn't have put him up because of the grooming. But she could recognize his quality & potential despite being in puppy coat. I'm a fan.

Previously had enjoyed showing to her. Last time out she gave BOB to fellow judge; gave my dog SD. After her assignment she pulled me aside and told me she loved my dog but she had to do what she did. I told her no she didn't; she could have put up the best dog. Showed under her again recently and she pulled the same stunt with someone that other judge had mentored. While she runs a nice ring, I'm pretty sure she'll never see me in it again.

Shown to her 3 times in the PPP ring, all small entries. She has a kind hand to nervous puppies and seemed fair to all in her selections.

Does overly thorough exam, so if you have a dog that cannot handle long exam, do not show to her. She is nice and pleasant, overly dramatic in her gestures and exam but in a pleasant way. I believe she is looking for movement by her choices. Will show to her again.

What a pleasant experience showing to this judge! She does a very careful, thorough table exam and actually watches you move around the ring! I would have felt I got my money's worth even without the win that finished by Smooth bitch and the crossover on my Smooth male! WDR in Longs, and nothing for my Longhair bitch or Special, but again...she judged the entries...awarded dogs that deserved it. Light hands, good ring procedure. I recommend this judge to you.

Very thoughtful judge that gives each dog a chance to shine. She knows what she likes and give all good representations of a breed a fair chance. It is not all about the coated breeds.

Examined the dogs teeth looking for tonsils, very thorough in going over the dogs, looked at dogs going around & looking for movement & top line. even tho, I did not win, I would show to her again.

DNS, blatent about putting up friends. Nice enough, but seriously not into her 'job' For e.g. our breed requires full dentition...dureing the exam, when I went to open her mouth....Ms. Way's comment was "yeah they have teeth"....Figured at that point she wasn't all that interested in judging/choosing the best dog(s). She confirmed with her picks on the day I showed to her anyway.

Political. Puts up her judge friends. On my Do Not Show and Do Not Hire list.

Ms Way does not always find the best dog or event the second best dog. But she is always unfailingly kind to dogs and people, providing a pleasant ring time. She is also entertaining to watch.

I previously had issue with this judge as I felt certain Komondor judges influenced her placements. Many years later, I found her in the middle of a 4 day judging panel & sucked it up. I Must say, She is Exceptional kind with the dogs. Pleasant with the handler. A good judge for puppies or novice dogs. She seemed to focus in on heads in Spinones. But she does want a steady dog in her BOB ring. I changed my mind & will show to her again.

She gives a very thorough exam on all exhibits. Consistent in her picks in the classes. Awarded related entries with winners and reserves. Did not show any bias toward pro's and big names except possibly for BOB, which is nothing compared with the blatant politics rampant with some judges. Felt she really knew type and rewarded it. Sometimes her eyes would stray at the beginning of a go-around but she'd immediately come back to watching the dogs. She has them move separately which I really like, and I think she does it b/c she's really watching. She doesn't want you flying around the ring. Will give cross-over points if entry is worthy. Would show to her any time.

Seems a bit confused, Put up sway back, gawky puppies for 3pt major over sound, nice adults.
Apr 14, 20165AnonymousTerriers
Runs an upbeat ring and takes her time going over the dogs. Her choices that I watched were spot on and was fair to the OHs. We need more judges like her!
Feb 15, 20162Bob IsaacksLabrador
After reading favorable comments on this judge, decided to give her a try. In truth, she took a good bit of time with every dog. In the end she was able to select a HANDLER exhibiting a Lab with the confirmation of a Doberman.
Oct 19, 20152Tatianaschnauzers
She enjoys her time in the ring and evenly pleasant with both - people or dogs. Knows the standard. AMHO fair judge, will put novice handler ahead if she likes the dog. Update... another show another pleasant experience. I really do not think she is about handlers, she has strong opinion on what she likes or not and just goes with it. I respect that.

She seems to enjoy judging. Gentle. Watches the dogs move all the way to the end. Will put up owner handlers and Bred By.
Sep 7, 20152McCordDachshund
Very gentle, runs a good ring, but unable to discern correct movement and breed type. Puts up whatever she wants, but often misses the mark as confirmed by numerous breeders. Likes traditional colors only, I.e. red.
Mar 2, 20155Patty HarbisonLakeland Terriers
Great judge for puppies. VERY sweet and gentle with them on the table. I had the entire entry for the breed, she put up my BBE bitch who is more mature than her littermate, so I really can't say what she was looking for.
Jul 3, 20143workingworking
this judge seems to really enjoy her job & do not know how she judged in the past, but today she judged the dogs & not the face. There were several PH in the ring with a big entry. Looks for movement & I am an OH.
May 18, 20144AnonymousTerriers
Runs a pleasant, efficient ring. Gentle hand on the dogs. Seemed to like clean movement and typy.
Jul 29, 20132AnonterriersExpert!
recently showed to her with special. She first saw this dog in group on Sat. gave the dog a group placement, then judged breed on Sunday, saw pros in the ring, and promply dumped me at the last minute for a dog that adds new meaning to the words "wide rear".

Runs a fun ring, does a thorough exam. Very gentle with puppies. Seems to like a dog that is well up on leg.
Mar 16, 20133Crystal StockBoxer
This judge was all over the place in our ring. She did not seem to be giving owner handlers a good look in placements even though several had very nice quality dogs. I cannot tell what she was looking at possibly heads? She was all over the place and appeared to be trying to "spread the love" I'd save my money unless you are a personal friend!

very pleasant to show to, seemed to enjoy her assignment, good job in the classes, but predictable for BOB

Put a 6-9 mos puppy to BOB over three decent specials, could not decipher the reason.
Oct 23, 20124Robin GatesManchesters
What a pleasure to show to and such wonderful ring procedure. She rewarded good movement and type. She also makes the group ring an event and really gives each dog a chance to shine. I thoroughly enjoyed showing to her, not just because she liked my dog but because she liked what she was doing.

Very pleasant and gentle. Watched her judge Juniors as well and was very good with them as we'll.

Was very pleaseant and seemed to enjoy judging very much. She looked for good movement and rewarded it. She gave every exhibitor a full 2 minutes of her attention and looked for breed specific traits. She was very good with the dogs.
Feb 18, 20125rorosporting
watched her judge a couple of breeds. Did a good job in what I saw. Gave breed to a class dog. It was the right call. My dogs will be seeing her.

Very pleasant to show to, gentle hands on dogs, patient with puppies. Does not appear to be political.
Nov 1, 20102AnonymousGreater Swiss Mountain Dogs
Very nice lady, soft hands on the dogs (although so tentative she can put some dogs on edge), pleasant with puppies. Despite being very thorough and taking a LONG time (she usually runs well over time allotted), this judge is terribly inconsistent. All over the map with regard to breed type. Seems overly concerned with spreading things around, which often results in a final lineup that makes me wonder if her winners are all even the same breed. If you think of showing to her as a very expensive handling class, you won't be disappointed. Otherwise? Save your money.
May 11, 20084Terriers for 25 yearsTerrier
Very nice woman - but in a ring full of typey, correct dogs at a supported show - she picked the only dog who was oversized, overdone, sloppy, untrained, and a general mess. ***UPDATE*** 16 years later and she has finally really learned the breeds! MUCH better experience now. I waited 16 years to show to her again and this time she found all the correct dogs meeting the standard in type, soundness. movement and temperament! Bravo! Sometimes it simply takes time.

Nice lady, but she puts on her pals even if they don't deserve the win. On my no show list.
Sep 19, 20073AnonymousKomondorExpert!
Very disappointed in her judging results. Seemed not to be able to make a placement without getting "approval" from a breeder outside the ring. Amazingly, she gave same breeder WD, WB, BOS, BOB. The bitches she put up were far from good quality. This provisional judge had an entry of 15 Komondors during Nationals weekend. There were several other Koms more deserving. On my DNS List
