I observed Mr Ringle's ring for a time. I did not own a dog being shown so I was not emotionally invested. His judging seemed fair. He makes a point to look at fronts and rears, so if you had plans of keeping your dog turned to the side to show off topline and hide a front, he will see through it and look anyway. He made a point of looking at expression as well, going to each dog and crinkling a wrapper while standing in front of the dog. I agreed with his placements. I also watched the Shelties and noticed that he doesn't favor color- there were plenty of Shelties that were biblac, merle or tri in the final lineup and not just sables with perfect markings. I would like if he watched the whole circle around the ring, put his hands on the dogs more, and would rather he let the handlers show the bites. But he seems thorough and fair.

Did ok with bitches. Still wants to check bites himself, which I think is very inappropriate in this day and age; and most of the judges I show to have the handler show the bite. Unimpressed with his judging--will not show to again.

Put up dog special out of control over two lovely moving specials. The dog had to go three times on the down and back and was still completely out of control from start to finish. I have absolutely no idea what he is looking for. On my DNS now, won't waste my money again.

Knows breed type. Watched him judge a large entry in Franklin, TN. Did an excellent job.

Surprisingly, knows the breed pretty well and can articulate it, even knowledge of headpieces and outlines. Gives young dogs, young exhibitors, and owner handlers a fair shake, too, and will put up what he feels is the best dog in the ring from any class (even over professional handlers in the ring, if need be).

Willing to put a younger more correct dog up for breed over older specials

Focused and pleasant. He picked the right dogs in breeds familiar to me

Kind to young dogs and gives pretty good exam, but I can't figure out what he wants. Seems it would be best to enter mature dogs with good movement and confident attitude.

He is a gentleman and gives every entry its due. Looking for good movement, and considers what job the breed was bred for. Doesn't care about color.

In Siberians, clearly has a preference for short legged dogs.

What a wonderful judge! awarded my Open Brindle dog needing just one single a four point major over several very well known boxer handlers to finish his championship. He will award a quality dog with an owner handler over handlers! ***just wanted to update that 9 years later I've finally shown to this judge again with a grandson of the dog he finished for me 9 years ago... we were awarded winners dog at a very large entry of professional handlers!!!***

He favors Bred-by dogs, and will put them up over the other classes regardless of merit.

Very gentle with the dogs- especially the young ones. Seems to understand at least my breed, and he has very extensive experience with successful Great Dane kennel. Should be a judge to watch for.
