Had shown to her on several occasions just to find out - she is extremely inconsistent. May put your dog up one weekend and completely ignore it the weekend after. Same goes with type of dogs. Winners could be similar or will remind each other no more than squirrel and raccoon. Nice lady though.

Enjoyed watching her Terrier judging at Westminster. Efficient, through and fair. Did not notice a preference for the Pros.

I've shown to this judges several times and always felt I got a good look. Will reward correct structure which results in correct movement. PLeasant and clear with her ring instructions.

Looking for well build, substantial, robust dog with great coat and good movement. Doesn't care who is showing, if she likes the dog. Nice with dogs and people alike.

Ms Vogels is wonderful with Puppies and their antics. Seems to like correct level to slightly sloping toplines and correct movement. She did a great job in Seattle today. Would show to her again any day I had the chance

Rewarded cute and showy over correct. No appreciation for movement or structure. Provisional in my breed so perhaps there's hope in the future but DNS for now.

She definitely goes on my DNS list! Idk how she has such a high rating????? She cannot find a good dog, and only looks at the other end of the leash....... Unless you have a handler on your dog, save yourself some $$$

I have a very short DNS list, with only 2 judges on it, and now there are 3. I have shown to this judge several times now, and she consistently has shown she has absolutely no understanding of the standard in my breed. Except in single entries, when faced with multiple choices, she always puts up the poorest example...consistently. IF there are handlers in the ring, she always puts up handers. In the Group ring, she always puts up handlers. This is based over 10 years of observation, and having shown to her at least 6 times. She is a pleasant judge to show to, not hard on the dogs, and fair in her time with each of them. I cannot fault her on that.

As bad a judge as I have ever witnessed. Jaws dropped around the ring when she selected the worst specimen in the ring. Just prior to her giving this dog WD numerous handlers and breeders outside the ring had commented on what poor quality this dog was and why was anyone wasting their money sending this awful specimen out with a handler. Even sadder the puppy that day had been Best In Sweeps at a Chihuahua specialty the weekend before and had not put a foot wrong and was totally ignored. AKC wonders why entries continue to decline. Perhaps they should pay a little more attention to the blatant politics occurring weekend after weekend. This judge is a prime example of why owner handler numbers continue to decline. Apparently this judge is unaware that she is supposed to be judging the DOG!

it was obvious that this judge did not understand the breed. the 2 b & pc dogs she put up had no coat (the standard specifies PROFUSE COAT). also her BOV winner had it's tail down in the breed and group. not a desired temperment for an et. she awarded aom and select to the same dog when there were obviously other worthy dogs in the ring. it appears she was judging by who was on the other end of the lead.i wish the panel at westminster kc had considered her lack of experience in judging et's (i think it was her first assignment) and had chosen someone who had more knowledge.

I find it interesting that the previous poster mentioned that she liked to put up class animals in an attempt to "discover". My experience has been that I am familiar with a bitch that she "discovered" and during her show career she consistently placed this bitch in breed and group. She went on to be a nationally ranked special. Fast forward 5 years and said special has a son who is doing very well, however, he is not "discoverable" but he looks almost exactly like a male version of his dam. Wouldn't you think this judge would like the son too? Not so, she has taken every opportunity to not place him. Very inconsistent. Very disappointing. I really respected her opinion until witnessing this. Probably will avoid her now until I have something new for her to discover.

Likes to put up class animals to the breed. Unfortunately, this does not appear to be based on merit, but a desire to discover. She needs to review standards on temperment and movement before making some of her decisions. Sporting dogs should not hit the ground before the judge goes over them nor should they pace.

I did not see this judge smile once during the entire breed judging for CKCS. She was all business, no pleasure. Not a fun judge to show to at all. I will not show to her again for that reason. If it's not even fun then what's the use?

Pleasant in the ring. Was fair with her judging of the classes. Didn't think twice about putting the better known handler of for breed.

very professional. gave every dog the same complete judgement. looked at dogs, not up the leash. would show to her again.

Really wants to see correct breed movement.

Gentle manner, knows the standard, very professional. Would show to her anytime.

Looking for structure and movement and not a dog that is overdone or over muscled. Will show to again and again as she knows a good terrier.

Mrs. Vogels is all business in the ring. It appears that she really likes puppies in our breed. She judged at 2008 National. I believe she is still provisional in Havanese. Dog that took breed on first day is a nice example, but did not move well in the ring, especially coming toward the judge, but was with a handler. BOS, a nice bitch, was also with a handler. WB was with a junior handler. Next day, completely different winners. I had a bad experience with Mrs. Vogels at the National, but decided to give her an entry once again, but likely will not in future.

Put up the dogs as I would have and knows a good terrier
Jul 26, 20091AnonymousJunior Showmanship
If you don't know her, she won't put up your child. Sad to say, the kids who went out and showed to near perfection were looked over for the kids who she knew and made numerous mistakes. What an embarrassment for the AKC to have this person judging our next generation! People from adjoining rings were coming over and commenting about the unfair judging. Not worth an entry - why pay to have poor performance rewarded in Juniors?
Dec 1, 20082anonterriersExpert!
Does better in rarer breeds where she doesn't know the faces

Very knowledgeable about terriers. Felt she judged dogs, not handlers. Would definitely show to again.

Seems to know Terriers very well but sure should study up on Sporting dogs!! Does well with Juniors even though I think she judges dogs a bit and not the Juniors.
