Will put up an unknown over top name handlers. Goes for the best moving dog in the ring.

Splits her wins among the Professionals. I am not sure if she feels intimidated or is just clueless on the standards. Hopefully the latter and she will spend some quality time studying the standards for each breed.

should not be judging crested or should review the standards again. Her table etiquette is also horrible for any toy breed. She comes at the dogs side instead of head on and spooks them. I have had her multiple times in groups and avoid her in breed at all cost. Horrible judge. Should stick to working breeds only.

Was not happy to see that movement doesn't seem to be important at all for breeds that need to move to do the job they were bred to do. Puppies seem to catch her eye, which is fine if they are movers, but ...... I will be cautious before entering under her from now on.
Nov 14, 20192AnnonymousHerding
Watch this lady do a few different breeds she has no idea on movement she will dump specials to class dogs that can't move. Now that being said she is good with dogs that don't want to be there. But I will never give her entire a judge has to know movement she's on my DNS list for sure.

Gentle with the puppies -- Our experience was totally unlike the poster who said she was rough with the puppies. That said, she gave Winner's Bitch to a ho-hum bitch who behaved herself and Reserve to the gorgeous-but-naughty young girl who squirmed on the table & pulled on the lead. Not what I would have done, but it was a valid choice.

She doesn’t seem to understand that toys are TOYS, and put up the biggest dogs in my toy breed. Most offensive and shocking was giving OH to a dog with its tail down (a HALLMARK of the breed) 90% of the time for no reason other than its temperament is clearly incorrect. The competing dog was far superior, the correct temperament and size. What a slap in the face of the breed standard. I wouldn’t cross the street for her opinion in my breed. This kind of judging is killing us.

Totally can not agree with comment below about the puppies. At list at the day we had shown our dogs, she was OUTSTANDING with those. Very patient, very nice, clear with instructions etc. One of young dogs got loose in the ring. She gave handler a time to get dog back and gave some helpful suggestions on trying different type of leash/collar. Our dogs had good experience, I'm very pleased. Will show again any time.

It’s very obvious that she looks at the wrong end of the lead. Also abrupt and not good with puppies. Gave her two chances, not wasting money on a 3rd attempt.

Ms. Riggsbee recently had an opportunity to judge a very large entry of dogs following a national event. She was very unpleasant to both people and dogs. She was not necessarily handler driven, however, she placed an obviously lame dog BOS over many specials and placed lame dogs in other classes. Clearly not a movement judge!

I've won/lost under this judge & think she is fair & looking for movement. would not hesitate to show to her.

I was VERY impressed with her overall knowledge of standards (in the breeds I exhibited or watched), and she also knew breed histories. This is rare. She definitely made a point to learn the breeds beyond the standard. Soft patient hands, laughs when my 6-9 puppy was happy to see her and used him for a major. Not political in any breed I saw. Good ring procedures especially in 100 degree weather. Was genuinely concerned with the dog's well being. In group, made excellent choices, and was not afraid to put up what she liked. Some pretty fancy handlers walked and OHs made the cut or got a group placement Definitely will go out of my way to show to her again.

Extremely political. Dont waste your $ even if you have a superb dog unless you have an in and a professional handler.

Great with my new to shows puppy. Took her time and was very thorough. Great experience with her as a newer owner handler, she made me feel relaxed. Also showed to her in owner handler group and she was the same with all the breeds in the non-sporting group. Will definitely show to her again!

Unless she recognizes you, forget it!

She judged our breed today & have shown to her several times, sometimes I win/lose. I think she picks what she likes in a breed and does not look at faces-which is a nice change in most judging that is done today. I think in our breed she looks at movement and teeth!

After watching Ms Rigsbee judge boxers today, I would have to conclude that she is extremely inconsistent. I watched her judge a large entry and for the life of me couldn't figure out what attributes she valued. I saw her reward poor temperaments, poor movement, poor bites, poor toplines, poor heads, etc. It didn't seem to matter if they were professionally handled or owner handled, plain or flashy, just no consistent pattern. I won't show to this judge again, and I heard several others today that said the same thing.

VERY positive experience for my first time showing to Judge Riggsbee, owner-handled, BTW. She awarded us WD for a 4pt major with a few PH's and well known OH's present. My dog is an oversized Miniature, but moves well and has great bone and substance. A dog that could work all day in the field. I'm so pleased she recognized his quality over some of the Mini's that are tending to birdboned structures to remain under 11lbs.

Unless you have a handler on your dog DONT BOTHER!! Showed BISS and didn't even get a look (only non-professional handler in Breed ring) Will not waste my money on this judge again!!!

Love this lady! Ms Riggsbee puts up the dogs she likes. Handlers need not apply! She will always get an entry from me!

I showed to Ms Riggsbee this weekend. I had never shown to her before, nor had any of the other exhibitors there this weekend. She took the time to explain to the winners in the final line up, why they were there! She quoted the standard and chose as close to it as possible. I wish more judges would take the time to do that.

Terrible with her picks. Ignored the 2 nicest dogs in the ring and gave the breed to a handler
Feb 2, 20134Kass Gouldingflat-coated retriever
Ms Riggsbee was a judge change - there was only one entry absent (and had been absent at the earlier shows in his cluster), so she had a large specials class, of mixed quality. Her ring procedure was easy to follow, with clear directions and an easy hand. Her BOB/SD were both owner-handled, and of excellent/good quality. A top-ranked professionally handled special was (rightfully) overlooked. She somehow missed the lovely bitch special, giving her SB, while placing the WB as BOS. Overall, a mixed review, but I would show a typey dog to her.

She put up a very nice moving dog for Best of Breed -owner/handled & there were professional handlers in the ring. I think she is looking for a good top line and side movement. Very friendly seems to enjoy her job for the wkend.
Jun 28, 20124Thomas Sighthounds
Ms. Riggsbee was very thorough and gentle while judging. She was consistent in choosing dogs with proper movement, correct angulation and topline. Expression and proper ear usage were important. I'll happily show to her again.
Jun 27, 20125JelacyGolden Retriever
Seemed to know what she liked in Goldens. Pretty, but correct, moderate dog. She did give our special a Group 1 on the first day, and then Breed the next day. She did find his daughter in the classes and gave her WB/BOS. So she did follow through with her judging capabilities. She was very complimentary, and we are not well known.

Apparently does not realize Vizslas should have proper front angulation. Vizslas should not have Great Dane fronts.
Nov 20, 2010AnonymousRhodesian Ridgeback
Made the DNS list of just about every owner handler with her RUDE manner and remarks. Completely uncalled for and reported by many to the AKC Rep. What a way to ruin a Supported Show. She made it quite obvious that she has no use for owner handlers.
Jun 22, 20103anonBeagles
Not SURE that she puts judging the dogs before putting up the top of the lead in order of friends and/or rank. A little confused by her overall judging. Won't go out of my way for her but not on DNS list yet either. One to watch.

I showed to Ms. Riggsbee 2 years ago and she was fair and seemed to really look at the dogs. This past weekend she shocked me and now appears to be political. I talked to handlers and owner handlers this past weekend and they feel that she is political. Very sad as she can be a very good judge if she sticks to putting up the dogs. I disagree with the previous comment as that is exactly what she put up for the breed in BMDs this past weekend, less than mediocre.

She likes a lot of type. Not a big fan of "mediocre".
