I was reasonably appalled by her choices today as were many others inside and outside of the ring.

Will tell you that your dog is really good after she puts up the pro-handler. Makes decent choices but if the pro shows well, you're going to lose.

Pleasant enough, didn’t find my dogs but I didn’t disagree with her choices. I would show to her again.

Nice enough- very into tooth counting in breeds that have no such need. She will re-set your dog and did so to multiple specials in the line. Ring procedure is very very messy and hard to follow- Pulled half the specials into the center and had them mill around while the front half went in multiple circles she couldn't possibly see for more than 5 feet because the center was jam-packed in a breed specifically known for dog aggression. She'll keep moving you until what she wants finally manages to put a foot correct and up it goes. This also takes forever.

Nice lady, but did not know our standard and selected a dog with unacceptable coat pattern.
Feb 22, 2022 | 4 | Patty Harbison | Lakeland Terriers
Had her for NOHS Terrier group & thought she did a nice job.BTW I have a squirmy puppy & she just laughed AND gave us a placement.

My puppy girl's 2nd show and she wouldn't stand still on the table, and because of that, excused my dog. She is not good with puppies and has no patience with them unless they are "perfectly" behaved.
Mar 14, 2018 | 5 | CR | Labrador Retriever
She does an awesome job. She judges the dog not the handler. She knows the breed and cares about movement. Definitely will show to her again.

I can't say enough about her being a HANDLER Judge. She was polite to everyone but only put up M.S. when there were several nicer dogs and bitches in the ring......

On the positive side she didn't appear to be political. Her placements were just OK but she definitely didn't find the best exhibits. Seemed to like moderate and pretty without much attention to movement

Put up a bald, limping dog with a famous handler, couldn't be bothered looking at the rest of us, especially did not look at movement. Plus, not the most polite woman, which made the day zero fun and a waste of time. Put same dog up in the group the next day, even though it has been dumped for weeks. DNS for us.

I found this judge to be professional in her judging as I was one of two O/H in the ring - all others were P/H.

Extremely accomplished in locating the exhibitors than can 'do something' for her.
Apr 21, 2015 | 1 | this judge is political | Hounds
I don't think that this judge knows the breed standard. she picks handlers. In my breed, the dog she picked for BOB would have been left for dead if it was to do its job. the dog has many undesirable traits for my breed, Mrs Berg choice was based purely on the handler. Mrs Berg will never get an entry from me again.
Feb 1, 2013 | 2 | Mudpuppy | Keeshond
Wow....about as political as they come. Barely looked at the handler-handled dog, absolutely GUSHED over the veteran, then gave breed to the handler and walked the veteran. *sigh*
Nov 11, 2012 | 3 | Brown | Non Sporting
Used to think she judged dogs, but realize that she judges her favorite handlers. Judges according to what people do for her (show chairs take note). A waste of time, she is what is wrong with dog shows. If you go, hire a high profile handler. Otherwise, save your $$.
Aug 28, 2012 | 5 | Lauren Fisher | Boston Terrier
Very pleasant in the ring. Knowledgable of the breed & very consistent in her choices. Will show to her again.

I have shown to her twice. She knows type & appreciates good movement. I will continue to show to her.

Mrs. Berg cannot judge BMDs or PWDs if her life depended on it. I am sure she tries but she just does not know the standard and does not have an eye. Over and over I heard the very poor judging job she did at our last show. Her juding my breeds was no better. She has gotten her last entry from me. DNS
Sep 21, 2011 | Robin Gates | Bostons
Mrs Berg was a pleasure to show to and put great thought into her decisions. I did not win but agreed with all of her placements. Will show to again.
Jun 20, 2011 | 2 | Mudpuppy | Keeshond
I liked the fact that she looked at the dogs from all angles--walking around them after the down and back to see the "view from behind" as they stacked. She was easy to show to.
Nov 29, 2010 | 3 | Blair Barrett | Boston Terrier
Friendly and nice in the ring. She gives very clear and specific instructions. In Bostons she's looking for "square" and will put up what she thinks is square even if movement suffers.

Considerate judge, took her time did a good job judging however, she had a special that would not stand for exam and snapped at her that should have been excused from the ring.

2016 update: Still pleasant but has gotten very political in many of her choices. A good example of default judging. Very Pleasant to show to, took her time, was patient with the novice handlers. Appreciated good dogs, judged a very tough working group. Would show to again. Did show to again about a couple of months later, a special snapped at her & she didnt excuse, this in a breed with known temperament problems. Will give her another chance....

Observed Mrs. Berg judging in Santa Rosa both BMDs and PWDs. She was clueless. When I spoke with others that had shown other breeds to her, I was told that she had slaughtered just about every breed that she had judged that day and that she is incompetent. I would now have to agree after my observation.

Gracious and kind. Does a fine job in Dalmatians and judges dog, not handlers. A wonderful judge for juniors.

Will put up natural ears.
