If your not a handler forget showing to this judge. She is very nice , watched her show after show put up inferior dogs to pro handlers.

Very pleasant, seems to look more for movement.

Love this judge. I didn't win in her ring but I will hive

She is not nearly as interested in heads, coats, showmanship, wrong end of the lead as she is in that the dog will be able to do the work they were bred to do. Gives a decent though not complete table exam. Concentrates mainly on down and back movement to see fronts and rears.

Showed to this judge on 7/8/18. All I can say is....OMG. I watched 3 breeds including my own. No clue to what she was looking for, all I can figure is she was looking for dogs that were the farthest away from the standard. At the top of my DNS list.

Very gentle and thorough on the table. Did not seem to look up the lead, however she Withheld select points because she "didn't like the tails" on any of the dogs, all of which were overall nice dogs and I honestly don't know what she didn't like about the tails. None of them had curls and they all carried them up as per standard

had only shown to her once before and had not felt it was a positive experience. This was a judge change for us. She barely touched the dogs on the table. Looked at the bite, and patted the back, then did down and backs. She made choices quickly without additional go arounds for Winners. Her BOB was excellent, but again, this is a judge that does not consider topline, at least in my breed, when selecting her Winners. I would give her one more try.

I have shown to her twice. I would say both times, she seemed to go for smaller, compact, heavy coated poms with pretty faces. She seems to select for the type she likes first, and only then takes movement into consideration (ie I wouldn't expect her to be blown away by a very sound mover if it is not as short backed or small as she would prefer or has a plainer head, but she might put up the better moving of 2 similarly compact, pretty Poms). She seems to do what she likes and isn't overly political, I have seen her put a class dog up over specials, and she seems to like putting up a nice bitch in breed if she can find one. She gave me a 4 pt major on a puppy bitch I was showing the other year, and her pick for BOB this time was that same bitch (as a special) shown by her new owner. So she appeared pretty consistent. Her BOS was a small, compact male with a dense coat and a pretty face who was somewhat similar in type to the BOB vs. the other boys entered in breed. The BOB bitch has a very nice thick coat for a girl and is a clean mover.

This is one of the nicest, fun spirited people. She really enjoys judging and found she was a real pleasure to have judge at our shows in Ferndale ,CA. She judges the dog not the other end of the lead.

Very pleasant lady. Very kind. Efficient, doesn't waste time. Very understanding of young boisterous dogs. Gentle. Will show again.

I like showing to this judge because she is so pleasant, excellent with the dogs and has been easy to follow in her selections. But not this time. Her WD was a very nice example of the breed and did go BOB. Her WB was scared, not happy and kept her tail tucked tightly between her legs. Definitely not terrier-like and should not have been rewarded. There were other nice bitches to choose from so I guess Ms Wheat choose based on the other end of the lead. I found no consistency in her breed line up either.

Entry was 3-4-2-0. Her table exam was almost non-existent. She always seems to really like larger, brindles (dogs & bitches). Her WD (my BBE boy) was brindle and on the larger side. WB/BOW/BOS was from the Am Bred class, also brindle and on the larger side for a bitch. She was quiet, pleasant, and seemed to be in a good mood. She was a judge change (Janice Pardue was our original judge) so I pulled my BBE bitch as she is smaller, very typey, and black & white and besides, I wanted to help my friend finish her brindle bitch as she only needed 1 more single (she did - yeah!!!). RWD was a brindle boy (Open 20-25) and RWB (Open 15-20) was a black & white, larger bitch as well. Winning isn't everything to me, and while Mrs. Wheat is not on my "DNS" list, I will only take very specific dogs to her as I don't really feel she knows/understands our breed standard.

Judged a Specialty - very confused in her judging, or had horrible ring help. Lost her place in her classes. In specials, told two handlers their bitches were SELECT, then had to tell one of them to leave the ring, not offering to change her to Award of Merit. Awful.

I found her to be very pleasant judge. She gave each dog a good look before making a decision. Even thought my dog did not win - I agree with her judging. She chose the best dog in the ring at the time. I left feeling I had been fairly judged and will definitely show under her again. I do not know how she is with professional handlers.

She was very pleasant and gentle with the dogs and did a good examination on each. Ms Wheat told me that she was thrilled with my 3 entries since they were so sound coming, going and with their side gait. With that statement you would have thought I had won everything that day. Went RWD, WB and BOS. WD and BOB had handlers.

Ms. Wheat is very gentle with puppies. She does a thorough inspection of each dog on the table and gives consideration to each entry.

Seems to strongly favor "small and cute" in our breed. Will choose the best small/cute dog in the ring over larger examples, even if the larger dogs are better dogs. I disagree with her preference, but she is consistent so I'm happy to show to her - as long as I have a little dog entered.

Thought she knew something about the breed and was one to award movement, but last weekend she put up (including BOW) a coarse, pet quality male with light eyes and rims. This dog was untrimmed (feet looked just like a cavalier's) and could not take more than three steps in a row without one or both patellas popping out making the dog look like it was skipping around the ring! DNS from me now!!

she put up her buddy in Min Pins...the dog she put up is coarse, breed standard states "Smooth", dog had very large joints and was not proportioned at all, standard says "Must be proportionate with no sign of large joints"!!! but, it was one of her kennel club buddies so what can ya say... Cresteds, the bitch she put up was acting like a complete freak, was not showing at all, she put her & a nice hl bitch back on the tab le and said "they are telling us that the eyes are getting to big & round, so I have to check eyes, and today, this one is my WB", she put up the bitch because she had a nice eye!!! even though she had no business winning, and "I" was showing her!!

Really pleasant to show to, but oh so inconsistent in what she puts up! Last week she had a very nice male that she dumped to a long nosed, fried coated dog. ( I did not show a male ) I have never seen her put up the same type twice. I'll think seriously about giving her an entry again.

Boy has my opinion of this judge changed. She totally lost my respect when she stood and visited with a "friend" before judging then used that Friend in the ring for all the points....just not a good thing. I will NOT ever show to her again. Why bother????

Excellent ring technique, gives each exhibit a good look, if you win you deserved it. Light hands, looks closely at movement and structure. Likes a nice head, but selected based on balance ove the head. Likes a dog that reacts to her.

Lovely lady, kind, gentle with dogs, knows papillon's. I came in last in in my class, she gave my dog every opportunity to give expression, and he did not, he was stiff, and showed bad that day. Both of us were off, we did not deserve to place. I liked her picks, and will show to her again.

I enjoyed showing to Ms. Wheat. She was kind and gentle. Win or loose I will show to her. She was respectful to all the exhibitors and DOGS. Seems very knowledgeable in my breed and concerned about following the standard.

From what I can tell, she likes movement. But appears all over the board in type and size

GREAT Judge - will judge the dog not the handler
Aug 28, 20075Stephanie SchultesChihuahuas
She is very good with puppies and unexperienced dogs .Ms. Wheat has a very soft way about her and knows what she is looking for when judging.
Aug 23, 20075WOW Pomz & PinzPomeranian, MiniaturExpert!
She really judges the dogs, knows her standards, wants type combined with soundness and seeks the correct gait for the breed she is judging also. Win or loose I enjoy showing to her.

Looks at the handler not the dog.

Has obviously studied our breed standard and tries to pick the best dog. I was impressed, even though I didn't win under her that day.

She is very pleasant and endeavors to do a good job. Structure and soundness are important to her.
