Very friendly judge, especially to younger dogs and those new to showing. Very gentle while going over your dog and gives excellent feedback. Dr. Spritzer is pro dog and awards on that and looks at movement.

Not impressed. Did not select based on sound movement or proper breed proportions. Definitely political

Could not find a great dog in his ring he puts up a friend handling a average dog . Political Terrible judging !

did an amazing job at the huntington show-watched him judge several breeds and the owner handler toy group was gentle with all the dogs, took his time-watched every dogs movement. seem to like small typey dogs

Very thorough, likes good movement, expects good showmanship, put up a mixture of handlers and owners.

Judge Spritzer judges the OH Toy Group in Knoxville and did such an amazing job. He is the most gentle and kindest judge I have ever had the pleasure of showing to. He was so outgoing, friendly and open that it just caught me off guard. He did a very thorough table exam and showed that he genuinely cared about his assignment and the exhibitors. This was so refreshing. Win or lose, I would show to him again.

Watched him judge a regular group. Totally political choices. Four pro handlers picked in rank order of their status. Pleasant enough and good to the dogs. Would enter under him in breed if with a breed shown mostly by OH. Won't show to him in groups.

I've always gotten a fair assessment from Judge Spritzer...but you may have to work for it. Don't stop showing, as he may change his mind if your dog isn't asking for the win.

Very disappointed in judges choice to not truly examine our dog in the ring. Examined the other special thoroughly and with our dog, did not look at bite or teeth. Only touched the top of his head and a bit on back. No feeling the shoulder assembly, depth of chest, rear assembly or muscle. Did not even check to see if he was intact. We paid our entry fee, drove 4 hours and paid for a hotel. We would at least expect what we paid for and that includes examining our exhibit. Will definitely add to my DNS list and share that list with all my puppy show homes across the US.

I have really no idea what he is looking for when he is judging, BUT, if you have a puppy or young dog who needs a good experience in the ring with a judge, he is excellent. Soft-spoken, very gentle and understanding of puppies. Speaks kindly to them and puts them at ease. There were several youngsters new to showing in the ring and he couldn't have been nicer to them. My puppy had been a bit worried about being gone over and he talked to her and petted her and made her feel so good that when we went to do the down and back she didn't want to leave him! (wanted more petting) He was also very nice to the exhibitors.

Don't waste your time or money. Either doesn't know or doesn't care about breed standard. Did not check front assembly, inner thigh or anything important you have to feel- you can't "see" these. Just checked the bites and a cursory swoop along the topline and you're done. Put up straight fronts and over-angulated rears, definitely needs some judge's education on this breed.

I have done well under this judge -- last three times I showed to him, bitches I own or co-own/bred were WB including at a specialty. So with that said, I don't find him to be at all consistent in his judging. He will often make a huge show of movement, with numerous up and backs, and then put up the dog with a propeller for a front end, or the one hocky dog in the class. I consider myself lucky only, when I've won. In addition, I have also seen him be highly inappropriate in the ring -- on one day addressing an attractive young newbie as "hey, sexy" and smacking another attractive young handler on the backside (in both cases, someone else won the points...but still!!!)

never again, likes a pretty girl holding the lead. got confused with a small entry and tried to give BOB and BOS both to dogs.
Mar 5, 20144AnonomousDachshundsExpert!
Likes what he likes and is not afraid to put it up from BOS on down. For Breed you need to be somebody.
Sep 6, 20132Sporting Expert!
Kept moving dogs as if that were the key, but at no time did he choose the best movers or the most typey. Pleasant, but did not make good choices.

He picked the right WD and WB but some of his class winners were questionable. Focuses on down and back and showiness.

Very pleasant manner; gentle and thorough in exam;gave every entry his full attention. Took his WD & BOW from AOH class and WB from the BBE. BOB was pro handled however a very nice representative of the breed.

Gentle with dogs, allows them time to get comfortable by talking and petting them before he checks bite and goes over them. Tells you to take your time stacking your dog so he can view it best. Complimentary to exhibitors. Would show to him again another time and see what happens.

A pleasent judge and good with dogs generally however somewhat heavy handed, his pleaent voice with htem however seems to put them at ease during this. He is quite inconsistent in his choices, it seemed like good movement and showiness is what he wanted in "dogs", in bitches poor movement and bad breed type with moderate showiness won, breed dog showy with poor front assembly, BOS bad WB over proper specials. No consistnecy, comment to WB was that it was the pretty bitch he'd ever seen, bitch has poor breed type so maybe he needs more judges education.

Good owner handler judge, seems to enjoy judging - gives everyone a good look sadly, he seems to have drunk the cool-aide - now choosing the heavily advertised over the better, less promoted dogs. I'll try him again, but only once

After reading the reviews- it makes me wonder if we had the same judge. . his judging was very obvious when it came to the handlers in the ring. Put up a dog with a front that was all over the ring and skittish.

He put up my 8 month puppy bitch BW/BOS. Very friendly to a novice/new handler (me). Gives compliments and feedback while looking over the dog. My bitch is large boned but proportionate, and comes from mostly field breeding. The WD was also a field bred dog, and large boned. He seems to like movement, as he complimented that. Even if my dog didn't win, I would show to him again. He is very pleasant. Good experience.

Very thorough in examination of dogs. Also provides good feedback.
Sep 11, 20095anonmastiff
Very very pleasant judge - nice with skittish pups, not only mine but prior breed (spinone). Contrary to other experiences, he put up for BOB a huge, thundering bitch over a special handled by a very very well known handler - nothing cute about the girl that won, all breed type though.

He was very nice to show to. He likes what he likes. He did put up my bitch, but she is cute and showy maybe that has some merit. I would show to him again.
May 27, 20082anonymousSiberian HuskyExpert!
Doesn't really look at movement. Flirts with women in the ring but doesn't necessarily put their dogs up even if it's the best dog in the ring. Seams to like the dog to be "cute". Pleasant to show to, nice to exhibitors.
May 5, 20085JeffSporting breeds
Shown numerous sporting breeds to Spritzer. Very thorough, soft, likes movement and good strong headpiece. Pleasing to show to.
Oct 1, 20074Williamhounds
Very soft hands with the dogs and pleasant to the exhibitors. Seems thorough. Focus on gait.
Aug 23, 2007DicoryDoxDachshund
Very pleasant man to show to. Looks for movement above all else. Not political by any means. Would travel to show to again.
