In my breed its all about hackney with this judge. Lots of it and will overlook other things if the hackney is there

Extremely political. Didn't appear to look at dogs, just looked at the end of the lead.

This judge has apparently forgotten the standard for my breed. Ignored body, bone, low and wide for small, light weight, cute, fast and flashy. Too bad. May be it's time to retire.

interesting judge & interesting ring procedure. Has you line up "head to tail" then examines each dog by going down the line prior to moving. In my experience not a tooth fairy, and a decent judge for an o/h with a nice exhibit. I didnt win under him, but have in the past, so worth another try.

Very nice hand on a dog, very pleasant to exhibitors. However, he has a LONG TIME reputation for ALWAYS favoring children in his ring, regardless of the animal attached. He also favors puppies, again regardless of quality. He will randomly go on a pro-handler kick and either love them or hate them. In essence, a great judge to show puppies and soft dogs to....but all over the map regarding WHAT he will point to at the end of the day.

Huh?!? In 2008, he dumped my specials bitch, handled by a top pro, in favor of 2 class puppies who wouldn't gate. then, in 2009, he puts her up over another very nice male special, even though her incompetent owner/handler (me) couldn't get her to do a clean down-and-back. Thanks for the 2009 placement, but I sure don't understand!

Good breed judge. Knows and likes the breed. Soundness and movement is important. I recommend him.

Likes SMALL cavaliers. Will put puppies up over adults or specials.

very poor ring procedure. Does not judge dogs against each other in the winners class, relies on memory from what he saw in the class

He has been consistent in my breeds. He wants type and soundness. He likes an impish Pom of medium size in good coat but in Min Pins wants extreme hackney on the smaller size and will forgive lack of fearless attitude if the rest is there.

My young bitch had an unbelievable win at Westminster from him. Word got out later that he owed the handler a favor.

Has earned the nickname of "No Reason" because there seems to be a lack of reason to his choices. Seems to be very political and certainly leans towards the PHs.
