From what I observed she is very friendly to all exhibitors and on the down and back she likes to bait the dog herself. As for judging Collies, she was extremely inconsistent and awarded dogs who lacked virtue. I gave her a 2 based on her better than average ring demeanor but the quality of judging was a 1.

This judge is a Hoot and even tho she is getting older she clearly loves her job! she knows what she is looking for & with no regard at other end of the lead. I wish more judges could follow her outlook on judging. A very nice lady!

Showed to her couple years ago first time in the ring with my just newly retired special. I have thought just one time he can help me out get over my fear as he was very experienced and loves to show of course with his handler. I was nervous but he showed well. She was very polite and patient with me. She found him in nice line up of the specials with handlers and put him up for BOB. Would always give her my entry regardless. She made my first time ring experience very pleasant.

What a nice lady! Very good with the dogs and careful in her judging. She runs a very tight ring and you MUST listen to her and follow her instructions. She likes to give helpful knowledge while in the ring and after judging. I will gladly show to her again.

the most political judge in the country - IMHO - loves the handlers that 'Fawn over' her ringside - has her favorite people and reward them, no matter what they bring in the ring

Good eye for dogs, but rather tough on handlers. Not a good judge for newbie owner handlers or those with a thin skin. Pleasant & easy with the dogs.

She does not remember what she does day to day or year to year. I watched the most SET-UP show in my life last weekend and I was shocked. What is more shocking is that she played along with it and I will definitely NEVER show to her again or get her an assignment with my club.

What a hoot! She was great with the dogs! But if you are a sensitive person, don't go to her ring. She tore into alot of people (pros or newbies didn't matter) during the weekend I saw her. Thing I admired the most was that if she liked the dog, she would place it, even if she thought the handler was bad. Make sure you wear sun screen at outdoor shows if you are fair skinned!! She worries about that and will tell you! I will gladly show to her again.

Ring full of owner-handlers - she was terrific, told everyone how to handle (but nice, chiding !) picked to good ones, was a true lady, knows her stuff- would show to her in a heart beat

Very pleasant to handlers and dogs. Did not appear to be political. Would show to again.

was excellent with my puppy. Was very polite, expected to shake your hand and did give her opinion and advice to each dog/handler present. What she told them was the truth.

Always a lady! She is a true dog woman!

Demands that terriers be in good, hard condition. She chewed me out for letting my puppy get fat, but then worried that she had hurt my feelings. Au contraire!--I was glad to get the advice and constructive criticism!

Has her own idea about what she likes and that is not all bad. I would show to her. Have observed her being very hard on Juniors that I felt was uncalled for. Maybe she just does not like the kids?

She was very nice to the dogs. She yelled at and punished the handlers in both the classes and in the jr ring. jrs can be told how to correct something, but should not be yelled at. I found this judge extremely rude.

Very pleasant to show to, but I can't tell how much she actually knows about dogs. I would think anyone might have a fair chance on any given day.

rude, unpleasant in ring (a one day thing? not sure). made sour faces at the dogs she did not like when they showed, maybe she is unaware that she does this openly for all to see
Mar 1, 2007 | Standard Schnazuers
This judge is "dog" person, comes into the ring, talks & pets the dogs- then goes back over the dogs talking all the time to the dog - not to the handler. Would definitely show to this judge again, she knows Standards and likes a dog with a good coat and conformation. |
