Showed to him 2 times was judging wrong end of the lead.

Put up handler with unsound dog over a sound #1 dog in the country who was Owner Handled. I won't show to him again.
Sep 15, 20131anonymousChihuahua
Not impressed by his judging. Seemed bored and did not find the best dogs in the ring, in my opinion. Barely touched the dogs upon examination.
Jul 23, 20132 anonymoushound
This judge continues to disappoint. Always puts up 'old friends' without looking at the dogs. Will never waste my money on him again.
Jun 3, 20131anonymousworking
A P/H walked into his ring and this judge made it a point to say "Hi ___" by name then when giving Best of Breed, pointed again to the P/H and said the name. Very, Very unprofessional on the judges' part. If he knows the P/H, he most certainly should not acknowledge it in the ring. Will not show to this judge again-Ever! AKC ok's this type of behavior from their judges??

First time showing to this judge, and I was not impressed. It might have been he was not feeling well, but he gave every appearance of being bored, and not caring what he was doing. His choices were OK, but political if the opportunity presented itself. I will give him another chance, and hope this was just a one time incident.

Not as good as he once was, nor as good once as he ever was. Time to move on.

The most pleasent judge i've showed to in awhile. He looked at every dog, was good with puppies, tolerated boys who had lost their brains due to bitches in season. I watched his judging all weekend and was pleasent to all and seemed to really watch movement and put up that dog regardless of owner handler or professional. It was a small show but I would definitely show to him again.

He picked the best examples from a very small entry...no surprises. Seemed ok as far as focus on the judging, so maybe he just had a bad day before?

Never again. What a waste of time and money. Why is this man even judging? He may have had knowledge or interest in the past but watching his judging now you would never know it. He wasnt even looking at the dogs. He barely laid a hand on them. He never saw them move. He was rude on top of disinterested. What is the point? If you are a handler then try him, otherwise forget it.

Thought he did a nice job in the classes however, did not give ANY consideration to Winners unless you were entered in the Bred By, Am Bred or Open. In a large class entry puppies DID NOT have a chance. He never even looked down the line in winners. Overall nice job though. (One of those puppies went WB out of the 6-9 mo class on another day, well deserved and there were others too.)

Wow, they don't get much worse than this. Spent most of the time gazing over at other rings but then he had already figured out his winners watching his wife judge the day before.

I showed to this judge about a year ago. He put up my bitch from the classes breed over specials owner/handled. He seemed pleasant during my time in the ring and I feel he went with what he liked.
Feb 14, 20113Robin GatesBoston Terrier
He will put up a good dog if you can make it stand out. Put up my 16 month old Boston for a Group 3 (owner handled) in a nice line up of Non-Sporting breeds. I will show to him again.

Put a class bitch over decent specials. She had several serious faults and WB would have been a gift. Also seemed to prefer setters much larger thant the standard calls for.
Sep 19, 20102anonherding
very pleasant to show to but prefers handlers and likes to put up faces.

judges north of dog...why bother?
Jun 12, 20101PRWPWC
Watched this man put up a pitiful excuse for the breed simply because of the handler - then gave him a group placement - I did not have an entry, but this judge had several other decent choices, but he found the one farthest from the breed standard!

I have rarely been quite as stunned by a judges behavior as I was with this man. I had watched him judge groups on Saturday, and was awed by his apparent lack of interest in what he was doing, but I attributed it to heat and the end of the day. Then I showed to him on Sunday. The man not only didn't watch the dogs go around, he actually TURNED HIS BACK on them! Then, barely touched the dogs during his exam (tell me, how do you find out anything on a coated breed unless you actually TOUCH them???), and, at least on my dog, never checked for testicles. Never Never Never again.
May 17, 20102PAZHavanese
I would not show a sensitive dog to him. Other than that, I have to say that he chose good examples of Havanese, even though my entry was not one of his choices. There were only handlers in the breed competition, and I think he chose a very nice beautifully groomed and presented dog. The dog got a Group one that day and a group four the next. As for the classes, it was a small but very nice entry and he chose nice examples of the breed.

I try to be very respectful when I write these comments on judges, but this man is truly horrible horrible horrible. Has no clue whatsoever. Uses the worst dog in the ring and sometimes I think he does it on purpose
Feb 2, 20103jrmomTerriers
Looks at handler's dogs only and does not seem to pick a particular type. Not sure he even knew the dogs were in the ring.
Sep 5, 20092DandydoxDachshund
I've shown under him once and watched him another time. He seems to have a strong preference for black/tans no matter how they are built. He gave my long hair black/tan filler dog WD. I was shocked because my compition was a very nice black/tan dapple that by all rights should have won. After that I noticed in the other coats and in the bitches that he always chose the black/tan for the win.

Very thorough, I felt he really knew the breed standard..and he wasn't looking at the "north" end of the lead..

RUDE!!!! will NEVER get an entry from me or any client of mine again. Could care less about quality or the future of show dogs

I'm not sure how well he knows the breed standards.

likes cute young pro handlers

Here is a man that truly doesn't care. He is both rude and opionated. He rarely puts up an owner handler. Someone I've given MANY chances to, thinking he was just having a bad day! NOT! He always has a bad day. If you don't like your job, change jobs!
Jan 13, 20082Joseph B GentzelGreat PyreneesExpert!
Not sure he understands much about the breed. I have seen him put up good dogs but suspect it was mostly because of the handler. Without a face in the ring he seems to not understand breed type very well.
Sep 30, 20071Tibetan Terriers
I don't believe that he knows the standard, put up fine boned, refined dogs. Seemed very disinterested, looking away during judging. Nice, but not worth my money.
Sep 7, 20071anonymousWorkingExpert!
Doesn't appear to enjoy judging or particularly know what he is doing. Have shown to him all over the country for many years, and those who have a zip code which begins with "9" certainly have the best chance of winning.
Aug 24, 20072WOW Pomz & Pinzvarious Toy BreedsExpert!
Have never figured out what he is doing in Toy Breeds. He doesn't appear to know or respect the breed standards.
Jul 30, 2007Irish Setter
Seems to prefer a straight (and, thus, incorrect) setter. Does not mind rough shoulders. Otherwise, very pleasant to show to.
Jul 23, 2007DicoryDoxDachshund, Longhair
Movement and training! Very thorough but gentle exam. Didn't put up any dogs that were wiggling on the table. Not a tooth fairy or head hunter. Will move you in the ring several times. Knows what he likes. Runs a no-nonsense ring. Very professional and pleasant to show to. Not political at all. Gave a Group 4 to an owner handler.
May 15, 2007DM GreyhoundsGreyhoundsExpert!
Seems to be a good houndsman.
Jan 4, 20071AnnyWorking
POLITICAL. Put up only ONE handler in EVERY class. BOB went to a dog that was in his motorhome the previous evening.
