Great hands, good eye, pleasant and professional.

Very much looking at sidegait. Not particularly forgiving of doggy misbehavior/hijinks. Had a large entry with deep quality and worked all entrants to find a nice selection of winners. Did not cross over what was an obvious major in one sex.

Watched him judge several hound breeds today. Was very focused on shoulder assembly and on the down and back. Had many handlers repeat the down and back at least once. Seemed to prefer doggy dogs and bitchy bitches--to the point that the smaller the better in bitches seemed to win the day. I rarely agreed with his placements but I was outside the ring. He was very consistent in assessing movement. I just wasn't on board with his type picks.

There are two David R Miller's. Don't get them confused. One from GA, one from OH.

Watched a couple breeds, made BB selections from the classes (Puppy & Open) over several specials. This is a handler free zone; he judges the dogs, knows the standards and has a long ring procedure that he sticks with. Even though it is long and detailed the exhibitor needs to be alert and ready to move when directed.

Excellent work. There were several unsound Italian Greyhounds in the ring... who cross-over so badly there could be technically excused for being lame. He managed to stay far away from them. He put up sound moving dogs. He obviously judges the dog and "breeding potential" and NOT the person on the other end of the lead.

I watched him judge the breeds before we went in, and was impressed with the fact that he seemed to be thinking about what he was seeing. Once we went in the ring, I got to experience it first hand--his hands on exam was complete and detailed, he watched every dog move with intensity, and he looked at every dog in the ring repeatedly. You got the impression that he was REALLY looking at each dogs' characteristics as they compared with both the standard and the other dogs in the ring. I will show to him again, without reservation.

I watched him judge today. He was very meticulous in his judging. He gave each and every entry a fair look. He seemed to like small but not tiny bitches and dogs with good bone and a good side gait. There was some confusion in breed (put up a male BOB and a male BOS initially). He handled his error with grace and took the time to correct it before writing it in the book.

Extremely disappointed. Put up his friends regardless of correct type, movement, or size.

well studied and intelligent about the breeds we've seen him judge, made choices people followed and was consistent in breed rings |
