Showed to him recently, and was rude, short and yelled in the ring. There was a friend bringing a dog back in the ring for me, that did not understand the directions, to go back wards toward Mr. Delaney to repeat a down and back rather than have the class move around and bring the class around to him. Yes, it was an odd way of doing it and Mr. Delaney had not done it this way with any other classes that I recollected before this. But I do not beleive that it merited yelling at this man "Over Here, OVER HERE, what do you need to turn up your hearing aids"? This yelling was so loud that it made the dog that I was holding squat and fear pee. My dog had never been in a ring in which the judge was literally screaming. My dogs did win eventually when the day was done but at what cost? Everyone standing around the ring were stunned by this judges behavior. His inconsistency in other shows with IG and his perchance for placing dogs shown by handlers add to my dissatisfaction with this judge. I would not show to this judge again. DNS list.

Likes a good mover. Took several bred bys in groups.

Might do dogs if no "faces" are in his ring.

Mr. Delaney barely looked at the dogs and never gave us a chance to set the dog up for exam. The one pro handler got a crossover major with a very inferior puppy. He consistently chose short-legged long-bodied dogs, in a breed that's supposed to be square-appearing.

Although he is pleasent to show to he doesn't look at movement it seems and handlers do get more attention.

Have shown to him quite a few times. Enjoy his judging, even when I do not win. Knows what he wants, and he wants the dog to SHOW. Good with young dogs, but I don't think he usually picks them as the winners! I've done best in Open class. Does not seem overly political, but I'm sure has his favorite handlers.

Strictly a handler's judge. If you want a win, hire a handler, even better if from his home state. He looks around a lot, as if he is looking for guidance.

I enjoy showing to this judge...but don't agree with his choice of a very large SL dachshund that WILL NOT stand on the table and has a very poor rear. I wish he had given a better look to the fine Mini dogs that were offered to him! He did award a very pretty small and typy Mini bitch...so i can't be too critical of him!

Very pleasant to show to, did a pretty good job judging Poms... might not like to put up puppies? Seemed to like a 6-9 puppy who was only a "little" naughty and gave him reserve commenting he'll be great when he learns to keep four on the floor. The puppy definitely gaited & baited well enough to be considered, but he probably wants good behavior & may not like to put up pups as RWB was also a nice puppy. Showed him another breed (Cresteds) 2 yrs later - again did not put up a nice puppy that had been winning lately (altho there were more mature specimens there that day), picked Open class for both WD/WB for a major. Both were on pros (the only pros in the ring I think) and the quality of the male was not the best in the ring imo. So I think politics can be at play sometimes and/or may just prefer to stick to Open?

Sat ringside at Eukanuba and agreed with Mr Delaney's BOB, BOS and 1st Award of merit. I did not understand his cuts of the other dogs remaining in the ring, Many had bad toplines and poor movement. May give him a chance with a smaller entry.

Mr Delaney is great fun to show to once again. Didn't win under him but he did a good job with our breed. I thought he was very pleasant with all the exhibitors.

Looks at who he knows..thinks he's funny in ring but isn't VERY disrespectful to people. Run's you to death because he really doesn't know anything about movement!!!!

Looks at end of lead puts up who he knows....just because a judge works people and dogs hard does NOT mean they know movement IT just might mean they don't have a clue about movement. Thinks he funny in the ring BUT is really very disrespectful to people NOT FUNNY

Looks at handler faces and it is easy to watch and predict the handler he will put up.

Gave our bitch WB/BOW for a 3 pt major to finish her. 2 well known handlers in ring. He was very pleasant and easy to show to. Did look for movement in the hound ring.

Very pleasant ring manner. Good with the dogs on the table. On this day he went with a handler if there was one in the ring, but in the end put up a friend of his. Will try again, but will not go out of my way to show to him.

He chose a WB that hitching and disturbingly crossing in the rear then crossed those two points over to a frightened tail down dog for BOW and then did not give BOB to the well behaved and ranked Special... i do not think he understands our breed standard with regard to conformation or movement. He was pleasant and his ring procedure was clear...

An absolutely delightful man, he was a pleasure to be around, and to be in his ring...Right up until he made his decisions, which made almost no sense to anyone. I'll try him again if he's part of an otherwise good lineup, but I would never consider him as a "travel-to-show-to" judge.

A real gentleman, very clear in his instructions and kind to the dogs. It was a pleasure to show to him even though I didn't win. He seemed to enjoy the breed.

My experience with Mr. Delaney this past weekend at the AKC/Eukanuba show was completely diffeent than the last time we showed to him. He was tolerant, patient and very willing to use a junior handler in a BIG entry at a important show. Kudos to him. Previously when we'd shown to him he was not at all tolerant of misbehavior even from puppies. Was VERY intolerant of the novice exibitors in Std Poodles after us and made one of the junior kids cry in the Poodle ring and then totally ignored her in the Juniors ring. Played head games with the kids and yes, they should be paying attention to where the judge is, but he made fun of a NOVICE JUNIOR (one right at 9 years old) to the SPECTATORS! when she was more focused on her dog than him. I'd show MY dogs to him, but would not send novice folks (esp. kids) to him. And while yes, he jokes around and shows a sense of humor in the ring, it is very dry and sarcastic and was not appropriate for the kids (or many adults for that matter)

Looks carefully at the dog for structure and movement. Very pleasant to show to. Helpful to novice handlers and has a good sense of humor. Clearly enjoys being in the ring. Will put up a good puppy if he sees one.

As previously stated, looks for movement & training. He also seems to like a longer, more angulated greyhound, which is balanced. Will get an entry, win or lose. He's fun to show to & enjoys it.

Nice judge to show to in conformation and obedience. Looks at the dog!

Wonderful judge, knows the breed, looked at the dog, is fair. Such a nice, humorous, and made exhibitors feel comfortable. Looks for good movement, expression, and a dog that wants the win. Loves a dog shown on a loose lead. He was fun! Would absolutely show to him again, and again.

Likes sound movement. Good judge. Will put up a good, sound youngster, and judges the dog; not the handler.

Reported on Owner-Handler list that he takes his time with novices, gives a lot of help and is completely focused on the dog - non-political.
