I watched Mrs. Carr do the NOHS terrier group today and it was sad. She can barely move, maybe can't see. Gave confusing instructions to the group, no one knew what they were expected to do. There were 2 stunning, superior dogs in the group and she almost missed both of them. Gave one group placement to a pet-quality dog who showed poorly. Just sad, and no, I was not showing.

I have shown to this judge many times over the years and she was always on my good judge list. Now she is on my DNS list. She cannot see well and has to have everyone circle around her so she can see the dogs. She also has the exhibitors put the dogs on the table a second time because she cannot remember the toplines. I saw her put a pom bitch last in her class in a 4 day cluster when the bitch won 4 and 5 point majors the other three days. Peggy is still the sweet lady she has always been, but really needs to retire from judging.

With the IGs. Half the bitches (all related) cross-over so bad there could be considered lame. SHE DID NOT PICK THEM. SHhe chose sound dogs all around.... upset the Queens of Cross-Over. But movement matters!!! Half of the judges have been oblivious to movement. This judge is not. I will always show to Mrs Carr.

She judged our 75th Anniversary National Specialty in 2010. Despite the fact that this is an honor for any judge, Ms. Carr skimmed through her assignment and did not properly examine any dog that I saw or handled. Some of the top breeders in the country also said she didn't examine their dogs, so it wasn't just my lack of fame that made her neglectful. She never even checked testicles on the two males I showed her. I will never give her an entry again. She completely disrespected the breed and the club. It was a travesty.

I hadnt shown to her in a lot of years and after this past weekend, wont ever again. Unfortunately she is one of the judges that as she has gotten older can no longer do her job. She cant see far enough to fairly judge dogs. She only used Open dogs and bitches for winners, and the first dog in the class was easiest to point to.. IT was very sad as I used to enjoy showing to her.

Mrs. Carr just judged the regional specialty at our National event. It was a disturbing experience that included her pointing at one dog for a class placement and not caring/correcting when a different handler took their unplaced dog to that position; and having her send one dog on its down and back, then turning around and starting to examine the next dog before the previous one had even made it to the end of the "down". She barely touched any of the dogs during her exams, and her eyes wandered away from every moving dog I watched her judge. Though it was hot and she had a lot of dogs to judge, I don't think it was unreasonable to expect her to do her job thoroughly and with due consideration to each dog she was paid to evaluate.

She was extremely friendly in the ring. A pleasure to show to, not afraid to put up owner handled class dogs as BOB and BOS over specials. In Bostons likes cobby boys and refined girls.

Too bad she is so "Friend" oriented. She doesn't know type from scribble on the wall

Every inch a true southern lady. She is elegant and always dressed to the nines BUT yes watch some of her jewelery esp large rings and bracelets. I try to bomb proof my dogs but have had a few that just weren't fans of her "finery". I would say she is firm not heavy handed. She is always pleasant to show to. I think you can turn her head with pretty pretty and she'll forgive movement.

Likes a pretty mover and a pretty dog. Be careful, her jewelery is quite large and can be imposing. I have heard she is rough on mouths, but I have never experienced this.

Unlikely to give a Dal a group placement. Has only done so once in the past 18 months (Boomer G4)despite seeing many nice ones.

Wants to do a good job. Has nice laugh and good ring manners, but seems to not appreciate good movement. Also, appears to have difficulty making up her mind. |
