Judge's Background & History

Mr. Jack Kilgour
Home: VANCOUVER, BC
Initial Breed: *German Shepherd Dogs

I started exhibiting dogs in 1970. I showed several different breeds as a junior handler but soon decided to specialize in German Shepherd Dogs. I bred my first litter in 1980. Over the next 30 years I selectively bred approximately 15 litters. My kennel produced 25 Canadian and American champions, several “Selects” (National Specialty Awards of Merit), a Maturity Victor, 2 Futurity Victrix and a Futurity Victor. I also handled a Canadian Grand Victrix, more than 25 US and Canadian Selects and over 100 American and Canadian Champions. I am a Life Member of the CKC. I am a member of the Canadian Dog Judge's Association, 2 National German Shepherd Dog clubs and 2 regional German Shepherd Dog clubs. I retired from breeding and exhibiting dogs in 2008. I am now licensed to judge 13 Herding breeds and I am working toward my permit for the balance of the breeds in that group.
