Judge's Background & History |
---|
I have owned, exhibited & bred Rhodesian Ridgebacks since 1987. However dogs have always been a part of my life. When in high school, I participated in 4-H dog obedience trials. Upon entering the purebred world of dogs, I began exhibiting my first Ridgeback in 1988 and have not stopped. Since that time I have put not only dozens of conformation titles on Ridgebacks that I have owned, handled and bred, but also titled my dogs in lure coursing events and obedience. I have been active in lure coursing for over 10 years and judged lure coursing events beginning in 2009.
At the Eukanuba International Invitationals, my breedings and dogs I own have been strongly represented. This year my newest Bred by Exhibitor bitch earned an award of Excellence, owner/breeder/handled. I have since qualified another new Bred by Champion for 2011 Eukanuba.
I have been a continuous member of RRCUS since 1989. Within the US National Organization - RRCUS - I have been honored with #2 and #3 rankings in our Owner/Handler competition over the last two years and this was a special honor as all my points came not just from owner/handling but from owner/breeder/handled Ridgebacks.
Locally I belong to and am an active member of an all breed club, the Superstition Kennel Club.
Then came my Basenji. Most recently owned and Championed my first Basenji. I am in process of applying for Basenjis as the next breed to be approved by AKC to judge. I have studied this breed closely for the last several years. It was quite fun showing a dog I could pick up and carry for a change. Look forward to meeting more dog enthusiasts in different locations of this world and learning from those I meet.
