Alane began judging at dog shows in l966 and her husband Tomas has been judging for AKC since l976. Currently both Mr. and Mrs. Gomez are active on the show circuits and judge shows throughout the USA. They continue to raise Shetland Sheepdogs that they train and exhibit in conformation, obedience, and agility. Alane is also a licensed judge for Junior Showmanship - All Breeds, Obedience Novice, Obedience Open, Obedience Utility and Obedience - Non-Reg Classes
