Sandy is honored to be a life member of the CKC, the Pointer Club of Canada and the National Shoot To Retrieve Association and a past president or executive member of the Ottawa Valley All Setter Association, the Gordon Setter Club of Ontario and a director of the Gordon Setter clubs of America and Canada. He has bred Pointers for conformation and hunting since 1971 and has judged National Specialties and field trials for Pointers in Canada, England, Ireland and the USA.

A retired university professor and a 'Pointer Man' and Sporting Group specialist, Sandy has judged specialties in all groups in Canada, including terriers, and has judged all breeds on numerous occasions internationally. He has judged conformation specialties, including National Specialties, in Asia, Australasia, Europe, and North and South America. He is also an experienced international judge of field trials and performance tests for all pointing breeds under many national registries on three continents as well those under the auspices of the AKC, CKC and UKC.

Judging internationally has become a passion and Sandy has judged in Argentina, Australia, Bermuda, China, Colombia, England, Ireland, New Zealand, and Scotland, as well as across Canada and throughout the USA. His hobbies include upland hunting, and sport fishing, and he and his wife Kirsten enjoy trail riding their Tennessee Walking Horses and open road touring motorcycles.
