Judge's Background & History |
Ms. Susan Nikkel
Home: Fallbrook, CA
Initial Breed: Siberian HuskyI began to show in AKC in 1964 when I bought my first Siberian Husky. My first show was the benched show in Santa Barbara. As my skill level and interest grew I began to attend the first judges/exhibitor education programs given by the venerable Sacramento Kennel Club. I became a very active match judge in the Bay Area. This experience led me to UKC and I began judging for them in 1976. During that time I continued to breed Siberians and sent a couple up to Canada for their Canadian Championships. My Clear Sky Dreamweaver Homebred, AKC, CKC and Mexican Champion earned a BIS. I purchased my first Papillon from Freddie Mayle, the famous and gracious owner of UFO, the first Papillon BIS winner, and began my journey as a toy breeder/owner/handler, later adding Maltese, Min Pin and Chinese Crested. Since that time I have also been an active judge for ARBA and ASCA.
I continue to judge for all registries. I am a regular contributor to SiberiansUSA and on-line magazine. I only breed Papillons at this time. My most recent outstanding homebred is breeder/owner/handled UKC Grand Champion Clear Sky Flora Dora who finished 2010 as #2 in the nation. She has nearly finished her AKC grand with BOB over several ranked champions and is a source of great pride because she exhibits both soundness AND type.
