Mrs. Cindy Vogels
Home: GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO
Initial Breed: Soft-Coated Wheaten Terriers

Together with her mother, Cindy Vogels has shown Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers since 1968. Under their Andover prefix, they have bred over 100 American champions, including multiple specialty, Group and Best in Show winners. They have had many top producers including the top producing Terrier dam of all time. She has also bred champion Kerry Blue, Welsh, and Norfolk Terriers, Brittanys and Greyhounds.

Mrs. Vogels is a past president and AKC Delegate of the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of America and past secretary and show chairman of Evergreen Colorado KC. She serves as treasurer of The AKC Canine Health Foundation and as a trustee for Take the Lead. She is approved to judge the Terrier Group, the Sporting Group, 11 Toy breeds, Poodles and Junior Showmanship. Mrs. Vogels has written an award-winning column, “Better Breeding,” and a number of feature articles for the AKC Gazette. She is currently publisher of the internationally recognized Sommelier Journal, a magazine devoted to the world of wine.

A graduate of New England Conservatory of Music with a performance degree in flute, she also holds a Master of Music degree in history from the University of Colorado. She and David, her husband of more than 30 years, have one grown son and are new grandparents.

Mrs. Vogels, a native of Rockville Centre, N.Y., has lived in the Denver area for more than 30 years. They raise and show champion Morgan horses at their home, Andover Farm. An avid runner, Mrs. Vogels has completed seven marathons and is an enthusiastic home chef.
