Born in México City, Ricardo Saldaña Solórzano grew in a family of lovers to the dogs. To the eleven years of age he began to participate in dog shows. His activity like judge's secretary for eight years, which allowed him to work all over the world with judges. In 1980 he obtained his first license to judge. From 1982 he was a member of the Board of the Federation Mexican Canófila. Since 1988 he is international judge for all breed for the FCM and the FCI. He was president of the School of Judges of his country and organized a great number of seminars and conferences from all over the world, what contributed to the formation of new national and judges and foreigners.

Starting from 1990 the American Kennel Club and the Canadian Kennel Club credited him as judge of all breeds. He has judged for many of the most noted clubs in North America.

He was president and show chairman of the Club Canófilo of Michoacán for 15 years. He has judged in World Shows, European, Asian and Sudamérica Championship, and Royal Shows in Australia.

He was a representative of the FCM before the General Assembly of the FCI in meetings taken place in Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and México. During these years he has judged in more than 35 countries and has granted the BIS in many of the most important exhibitions of the world. He has also judged diverse national specialized exhibitions of breed in their country and abroad.

Recently, a specialized magazine considered him the Judge of the Year. He writes in two Mexican Dog Show Magazines. He is a professional journalist and television producer.
