Mr. Evans began breeding Lhasas in the 1970s and the limited Baywatch breeding program has, among other things, produced generations of multiple group- and specialty-winning dogs. Baywatch is an American Lhasa Apso Club (ALAC) Register of Merit (ROM) Breeder and Mr. Evans is an ALAC Parent Club approved breed mentor. In addition, he has taught a number of institute and judge’s group seminars on Lhasas and other breeds.
Mr. Evans is a long-time member of the English Cocker Spaniel Club of America and the American Lhasa Apso Club and has belonged to a number of all-breed clubs over the last 35+ years including Lexington KC, Shoreline Dog Fanciers Association of Orange County (founding member), Middlesex County KC, Vacationland Dog Club and Chesapeake KC of Maryland. His specialty club memberships have included the Northeast English Cocker Spaniel Club, Mason Dixon English Cocker Spaniel Club, Lhasa Apso Club of Greater Houston, National Capital Area Lhasa Apso Club and Central Maryland Lhasa Apso Fanciers. Mr. Evans has previously held and continues to serve in a number of positions for both all-breed and specialty clubs including AKC Delegate, President, Secretary, Treasurer and a variety of committee chairs and memberships.
Mr. Evans has attended the AKC Advanced Terrier Institute in July 2009 as well as numerous Dog Judges Association and group institutes, seminars, meetings and training sessions.
As a Sporting Group judge, Mr. Evans has judged numerous Sporting Group and specialty shows throughout the US. In October, 2010 he judged the Sporting Group at Devon Kennel Club.
