Ms Young has an International background. She has lived in Germany, Puerto Rico and Venezuela and has travelled extensively throughout Europe, Central & South America. She is an AKC judge who has also judged for International Organizations. She has been judging since 1995.

She has bred/shown/field-qualified German Shorthairs & Wirehaired Pointing Griffons over a 30-year period. Educational experience includes: Attendance at the International Deutsch-Kurzhaar-Prufung (Germany) 1983, French 100 yr Griffon Breed Anniversary show- Club du Griffon d’Arret å Poil Dur Korthals (France) 2001, and AKC Judges Institutes & approved seminars since 1991.

She was the founder of the AKC National Breed Club (American Wirehaired Pointing Griffon Association) for WPGriffons in the US and Judges Education Coordinator. She has presented seminars on conformation to judges groups as well as different breed comparisons. She is a Lifetime member (26 yrs) of the Eugene Kennel Club, holding the office of President multiple times, cluster chair, show chair, and obedience chair. She is an active member of the Emerald Dog Obedience Club, holding the positions of Board Member, Obedience Show Chair and Tracking Chair. Her involvement also extents to the field where she is conformation consultant to the Versatile Hunting Dog Federation, has been a member of and field tested her dogs for 30 years with the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association as well as American Kennel Club field events. She is an active hunter of upland game birds and waterfowl.
